Investigation of the Supercapacitive Behavior of Electroless Ni-B Coatings

Amorphous electroless Ni-B coatings were deposited on steel substrates with different surface morphologies and B contents (6.5–8.64 wt.%) that could be changed by altering the temperature composition of baths. The supercapacitive behavior was evaluated cyclic voltammetry galvanostatic charge–discharge measurements, it found had higher capacitance than pure Ni or bulk plate. A close relationship identified between microstructure, content, capacitive coatings. presence alloying element most significant effect in determining capacitance, while area particle size also contributed to its increase. surface-specific capacity 31 mF/cm2 achieved coating containing highest content largest AFM area. Furthermore, revealed deposits determined combined bath under applied experimental conditions. obtained results indicate are promising candidates for applications.
